Still here

What can I say? The past few years have been, well…IYKYK. And you do. Collectively, we’ve been through the muck, haven’t we? The pandemic destroyed and good things were also created from it. Many artists and others have said what Pablo Picasso is credited with saying: “Every act of creation is first of all an act of destruction”. I agree. Not that a pandemic is a wonderful thing.

I’m a deep thinker. Most creatives I know share that same quality. I could write all day about this and almost any subject. Though my mission is to become a great painter, so that’s what I’ll do today, instead.

I’ve committed myself to finishing up several works I started painting before 2020 even happened. Here are a couple of those works:

Here comes the sun…

I really like art that depicts the sun and moon together. I did this by taking two different drawings and merging them together, then changing the color. After several days of dreary weather, we’ve had intermittent bouts of sun, as I like to describe it. This morning’s sunrise was spectacular! My cheap camera can’t take good pics of bright objects. (Either that, or I still haven’t figured out how to do make it do that.) Anyway, the sunrise inspired me to put this together.
