Yes, I am! I’ve been creating things with Sculptamold, which is an air-dry paper modeling compound. I mix it with water and apply it to armature, of sorts, that I make from either paper or wire. It hardens, then I sand it, paint it and otherwise make it look like stuff. Here’s an anchor and an octopus. Does the anchor look real to you? Believe it or not, it doesn’t even weigh three pounds. The octopus isn’t exactly done because I may decide to add suckers to it. I do this kind of work, now, more than drawing and painting because I live with chronic pain and this is a lot easier on my fingers and wrists. The anchor is on display for a month with some of my drawings and a painting at Cravings, a cafe in Sharon Pennsylvania. Thanks for stopping by!
What a year it’s been for my family! We had a house fire in March, finally got back home in August, my husband was diagnosed with cancer in September, had surgery in October and the doctor accidentally cut something else out…Just TOO Much! ? There have been fire fighters, police, contractors and nurses in our home all year! We’ve had serious health issues on my side of the family and his..it’s just been one of those years! Hubby is on the mend and finally back to work! Needless to say, it’s been a tough one! So, Let it snow. Or not! I don’t care! A little snow…or a lot. I just hope my family and friends stay safe and warm and have enough of whatever it is they need.
I created the following GIF image from a painting I did recently. You may find the original image printed on all kinds of things at the following links.

Thanks for taking the time to read! Thanks to family and friends who helped us in our times of need and for the messages of love and support from my online family of friends.
Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and love and hugs to all!
I couldn’t think of a title for this writing so I thought of calling it “untitled”. I realize I may have already done that with a post. Though being redundant is one of my finer qualities, I’ve decided to call it, “The Butterfly Maker’s Moon”.
A new website is in the works for me. I’ll be posting the link to that once I get it up and running. I hope to be more faithful in posting to that website. Sometimes, you just need to start over, you know?
One of the better things I’ve created lately is this image, “The Butterfly Maker’s Moon”. It’s available in my Zazzle online store and in my “Mel Moongazer” Society6 online store, on lots of products. The links to those stores are at the top of the page.
Thank you for visiting!
Merriam-Webster defines equilibrium as a state where opposing forces or actions are balanced so that one is not stronger than the other, or a state of emotional balance or calmness. I was referring to both kinds of equilibrium when I created this. I added the word, “conditional”, because it looks good in the title. No other reason. Though if you think about it long enough, it makes sense when applied to “equilibrium”. Well, it does in my mind. But I’m an artist.
See the two abstract faces at the bottom? One is facing the left, the other faces the right. One is happy and the other is sad. The four directions are above their heads. A careful look at this drawing will reveal a bird, my hand and other symbols, depending on your imagination. 😀
Birds represent lots of things in symbology. That gives this abstract drawing balance. The faces are opposite. That gives it more balance. The right and left bluish borders I painted are not the same size, neither are the top and bottom borders. I feel that balances things out, even more. The extreme opposites of black and white are balanced out by the blue border. Hands in art symbolize mankind and human emotions. In some cultures, they are symbolic of the divine. The hand has five digits. I feel five is a very balanced number. A little research proves that it is very significant in some cultures. If I had the time I’d probably count the dots of paint on this thing to see if they added up to a multiple of five. Aint nobody got time for that! 😀
My point: Balance doesn’t always look that way on the outside. Here is the link to where you may buy this on many products: link to conditional equilibrium
